Yes, seafood makes its way to the table in many
 different forms.It is a favorite of many and eaten
more frequently than steak.
Seafood is known to be a rich source of vitamins, 
minerals, omega-3 fatty acids and iodine.


Lobster, an expensive type of seafood , is usually served
boiled. They thrive at the bottom of the ocean and are
known to live for a very long time.

Countries like Japan, are well known for their love of seafood.
 Katsuobushi - this Japanese tuna dish, is made of dried, 
fermented skipjack tuna.

Smoked herring is a favorite of countries like Scandinavia, 
the Caribbean and the Netherlands. Bacalao, dried cod fish,
a favorite in Spain and Italy.

A seafood celebration on Christmas Eve is a common
Italian - American tradition.The Philippines also has
 its own seafood celebration. Paella - a popular Spanish
dish, is made of different types of seafood.


A fishing village

There are sometimes coastal communities where 
the primary source of income is generated from fishing. 
Seafood products are prepared and sold, both at the local 
level and for export.
